Our Anglo-Continental cuisine has earned us a  reputation which we value highly. From sophisticated dishes for the discerning food lover to vegetarian foods and dishes for the lighter eater, The Peterborough has something to offer most tastes and appetites.  Review our Regular Menu of fresh and appetising food available Tuesday - Sunday.

Our owner Chefs, Linda and Trevor, prepare and cook all their dishes from local produce (where possible) in their kitchen and no food is brought into The Peterborough pre packed for re-heating. Review a typical A-la-Carte Specials Menu. Our Chefs offer varied and exciting “special” dishes available Tuesday - Sunday.

A range of tantalising starter dishes from a simple but good homemade soup to specials like Scallops with fondant potatoes and sweet pepper purée. We revise our menu to coincide with seasonal produce and we have a daily specials board. A choice that our customers have found exceptional.

Fish is frequently not available or is badly cooked in rural pub/restaurants but we’ve changed that. We have favourites like battered Cod and chips and we offer Trout, Sea Bass, Tiger Prawns, Crayfish, Tuna and Scallops all prepared by us in our kitchen in a variety of ways. The Peterborough often offers smoked fish specialities.

The Peterborough cheese board is becoming somewhat of a favourite. We offer a three cheese or a five cheese board (from a choice of cheeses). Our cheeses are hand selected by us and come from a variety of local, British and European sources. Cheese and Port to finish a perfect meal, now that’s an idea!

We are proud of the range of dishes we offer. We include traditional pub favourites like cured ham, free range eggs & chips and liver & bacon to the finest extra matured beef steaks you will find anywhere. In fact our reputation for steaks is enviable. In addition we have chicken, lamb and beef dishes, curries and several continental specialities.

Sweets and puddings are simply a delight for most people. Ours are traditional, sometimes different or exotic  and some are just decadent. You can be sure of one thing though - they’re all wonderful and the majority are homemade. From fresh fruit to Chocolate fondant with fresh berries and homemade Bailey’s® cream, there’ll be something to tempt you to be sure!

Receptions & Parties

The Peterborough offers a large function room facility for buffet style and table served foods.  Our function room directly connects to our restaurant and can accommodate up to 80 guests for weddings, receptions, parties, company / club dinners and social events.

Lunch Clubs

We have a monthly lunch club menu which organised parties can take advantage of during the week. They are two and three courses and are considerably subsidised. The food is excellent and freshly made by us in our kitchen. We can cater for up to 45 guests for lunch clubs. (Pre order only).

Daily Specials
Our specials board offers additional choices of starters, main courses and sweets for the more discerning diner. We change many of the choices daily - just for you!
